"Summer and the City" by Candace Bushnell

I missed Candace, I really did. Last year I read all of her six books, one after another, in one single breath – Sex and the City, Four Blondes, Trading Up, Lipstick Jungle, One Fifth Avenue, The Carrie Diaries. I enjoyed all of them and wanted for more so much. When I got to the last page of the last book, I felt a sorrow for having read all of them and I wished there were more. But what made me not to be entirely sorrowful about it was the knowing that there WOULD be more. Ever since I found…See More

"It's not the first time I hear Miley Cirus might play Carrie's part in The Carrie Diaries movie. But come on, M. Cirus had already her cameo appearance in Sex and the City-2, why would they want her to be young Carrie? It makes no sense."

"The Carrie Diaries" by Candace Bushnell

The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell is the story of Carrie Bradshaw before Sex and the City. The book focuses on Carrie Bradshaw’s senior year of high school in a small town called Castlebury. As we read the book, we meet Carrie’s family, her friends, her mates from the high school. Then we meet Sebastian Kydd, the new guy from the high school who becomes the most popular guy overnight, the guy wanted by all the girls, the guy Carrie falls in love with instantly. Then she starts going out…See More

"One Fifth Avenue" by Candace Bushnell

A really incisive book from Candace Bushnell is One Fifth Avenue, published in 2008. It’s a story about One Fifth Avenue address in New York and its glamorous (or not so) tenants. Fifth Avenue is THE street in Manhattan – the street of rich, the street of powerful, the street of those who are on top. And One Fifth Avenue is THE address – the most coveted, the most craved, the most desired, the chicest, the hottest, the one with the best pedigree, the one with all the most interesting people. If…See More

"Lipstick Jungle" by Candace Bushnell

Lipstick Jungle is the 4th novel by Candace Bushnell, published in 2005. Sharp, outrageous, pinpointing, sincere, honest, a great page turner – just a few words I would describe it in, the way I am already used to Candace Bushnell’s brilliant writing which made me read all her books one after another, in one single breath. Lipstick Jungle is the story of three powerful women in their forties in New York City: Wendy Healy the movie producer, Nico O’Neilly the editor in chief of a fashion…See More

"Trading Up" by Candace Bushnell

Trading Up is the third novel by Candace Bushnell, after Sex and the City and Four Blondes, published in 2003. It's the sequel of the story about Janey Wilcox. She is a celebrity now, a well-known Victoria’s Secret model. And yet again, she has to put up with a lot of humiliations from men around, because she is still not taken as seriously as she would like to. Her ultimate purpose in life is to climb socially. She wants to be invited to the most glamorous parties in Manhattan, to befriend the…See More
